It’s one of the city’s biggest events of the year, attracting up to 150 000 visitors over 7 days. Galway International Arts Festival, which runs from 11 to 24 July, could not be better placed than in the cultural hub of Ireland. With over 35 years of planning and experience, the festival offers powerful and inspirational shows, brings the city’s streets to life with street performers and encourages audience participation.

Film Fleadh is the country’s leading film festival and brings the world of cinema to Galway. The vast line-up of feature length and short films brings with it directors, cinematographers, actors and more to the shores of western Ireland. Celebrating its 28th year, this well-established festival is loved by film fanatics. One of the venues hosting screenings and parties is the Radisson Blu Galway, and thus many film professionals and movie fans make it their home base during the festival, creating a unique and artsy atmosphere.

Sports: Streets of Galway

Its gorgeous route follows the city’s landmarks, taking participants to iconic locations such as Salthill, Long Walk and The Claddagh. A different kind of sightseeing!
