As if Switzerland in the summertime could get any better, the Salt.Cinema open air film event may have done just that.
For 26 years Salt.Cinema has been entertaining locals and visitors alike by hosting screenings of movies to suit your style, no matter what genre of film you prefer. Every year around 160,000 film enthusiasts gather in picturesque locations. From Lake Zurich, the Münsterplatz in Basel to the Grosse Schanze in Berne, these gorgeous backdrops are host to a cinema festival every summer.
Even though the summer of 2014 turned out to be one of the wettest in Salt.Cinema’s history, 46,000 spectators turned up to take in the last movie of the season Pulp Fiction by Quentin Taratino.
This year, Salt.Cinema is set to run from July 15 until August 30 (end dates vary depending on your location in Switzerland) and this year’s list of films looks to be even better than the last. Featuring hits like, The Imitation Game, Jurrasic World and Minions - that are sure to entertain no matter how old or young you are!
With the Radisson Blu Hotel, Basel and Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport providing the perfect spot to retreat to after you’ve enjoyed the movie, we can’t think of one good reason why you shouldn’t go.
