26 North Restaurant & Social Club is a new success concept that was first introduced to Stavanger early in 2016 at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel. The restaurant has received rave reviews for its cuisine and after just a few months guests have been rating the restaurant on TripAdvisor as Number 1 of all the restaurants in Stavanger. In August, the concept was also launched at Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Bergen.
The head chef at 26 North in Stavanger believes the relaxed atmosphere and the local cuisine is the reason why the restaurant has become so popular with hotel guests and locals in Stavanger.
“The earthy and sophisticated design of the restaurant creates an informal atmosphere that invites the guests to share good conversation, to laugh, relax and enjoy one another’s company. All this, combined with delicious local food, has proven to be a winning concept”, says Chef Kristoffer Ingemansson at 26 North Restaurant & Social Club in Stavanger.
The menu includes items such as “a bucket of hand-picked shells” and “shots from the coast”. Chef Kristoffer takes his inspiration from the Norwegian fjords, farms and forests and has put together a unique Nordic menu that will tickle your taste buds. As the icing on the cake, delicious fresh bread is baked every day and served on arrival. The bread is served with creamy butter and aioli, and a new type of bread is on offer each week.
Design and service
The success concept is inspired by the countries of Scandinavia, the spectacular scenery, the culinary treasures and the design. This is reflected in the restaurant’s interior, where rusticity and wood are combined with stylish and modern décor. Click here for the photo gallery.
Brian Gleeson, Hotel Director at Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Stavanger says: “We have spent a lot of time developing a concept that moves away from the normal hotel restaurant; it’s a concept that is new, exciting and tells a story. We want our guests to have a wonderful dining experience, but also a story to tell about Norwegian food. We have put in a lot of work and trained our employees thoroughly. We have always been strongly focused on sticking to the concept, and this allows us to deliver the same excellent service time and again”.
Branching out in Bergen
26 North Restaurant & Social Club opened at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Bergen on 17 August 2016. Milla Boutique has redesigned the former restaurant and bar, and it now boasts new décor, tasteful furniture and an exciting menu full of Norwegian specialities.
“We have retained successes like ‘A platter from the fjords’ with Norwegian tapas and varied dishes. In addition, we have put together a menu with the absolute best that the Norwegian fjords, farms and forests have to offer, so that our guests receive a culinary experience completely out of the ordinary”, says Hotel Director Nina Askvik at Radisson Blu Royal Hotel at Bryggen i Bergen.
