Radisson Blu Hotels & Resorts are proudly relaunching their signature “Super Breakfast” concept through a new fundraising initiative with their longstanding charity partner, the World Childhood Foundation.
The campaign entitled ‘Buy a Breakfast, Give a Breakfast’ will offer guests the opportunity to donate a breakfast to children in need during the month of September– the funds from which will go directly to the foundation. The donations will be shared across three of the foundations projects, ‘Advance’ and ‘The Way Home’ in Ukraine and ‘SixtyOneThree’ based in South Africa.
Joanna Rubinstein President & CEO, World Childhood Foundation USA adds: “At Childhood our goal is aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, that every child should have the opportunity to grow up with memories of a safe and loving childhood. For some, hunger is part of their everyday lives and so by providing them with a breakfast we are able to take a step in tackling this problem. We are hugely thankful to Radisson Blu for their efforts around the Buy a Breakfast, Give a Breakfast project as well as their continued support of the Foundation as a whole”
Inge Huijbrechts, Vice President Responsible Business, said: “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Skipping breakfast or lack of a healthy meal puts kids at a serious disadvantage. Needless to say, being hungry at school is not good for grades either. We are therefore delighted to launch our new “Super Breakfast” concept by supporting the World Childhood Foundation with “Buy a Breakfast, Give a Breakfast” campaign and we look forward to helping vulnerable children start their day in the most healthy way. September is our company’s Responsible Business Action Month, when all our hotels around the globe join efforts to raise funds for local charities and volunteer in their local communities.”
Radisson Blu estimates to serve 50 charity breakfasts per hotel in September, providing a total of 3,500 breakfasts for children, through 70 participating hotels. In addition to this fundraising initiative, the Radisson Blu hotels will be volunteering in their local community – sharing the delicious new Super Breakfast with children in need, in the communities surrounding the hotels.
World Childhood Foundation aims to protect and support children across the globe. Their work encompasses over 100 projects by providing assistance to vulnerable children in need. For example The Way Home in Ukraine funds’ Center of Early Development supplies 140 pre-school children and 80 school-age children from marginalized families with much-needed support.
