Randers Regnskov Zoo
At this tropical zoo located approximately 40km from Aarhus you can experience a completely different world than what most of us are used to. Ebeltoft Safari - Ree Park
Ever wanted to go on a safari? At Ebeltoft Safari - Ree Park you can. Again, only 45 minutes by car from Aarhus, you can meet wild animals from every continent in a large, hilly and scenic area with woods and lakes. Here you have the possibility to go on a land rover safari, feed animals, watch bird shows and even go camel riding. The park houses about 80 species, including several that are endangered. Ebeltoft Safari - Ree Park has a great conservation program and works with breeding such animals, such as cheetahs.
Djurs Sommerland Amusement Park
The biggest summer park in Scandinavia is only a 45 minute drive from Aarhus city centre. At Djurs Sommerland Amusement Park the whole family can enjoy 60 different activities varying from rides suited for smaller children, to the more adventurous who crave more speed. The amusement park offers Denmark’s biggest slide, cool playing areas and a large waterpark. There are also seven themed areas, including the newly opened Viking Land, so there really is something for everyone here.
Kattegatcentret Shark Centre
An hour’s drive northeast of Aarhus you will find Kattegatcentret Shark centre. Overcome the fear you may have after watching Jaws in your childhood and also teach your children about one the most fascinating species in the world. And if you are brave enough, you can even go diving with these magnificent creatures, which certainly would be something to tell your friends! The aquarium also houses many other species, around 250 of them, from colorful coral fish to the tropical sharks.
Legoland Amusement Park
Denmark’s most famous and popular amusement park is only one hour southwest of Aarhus. At Legoland’s Miniland you can walk around in a miniature world of Lego, where famous buildings, capitals, villages and other exciting areas are built with an estimated 20 million Lego bricks. At the Imagination Zone you can experience the largest 4D cinema in Scandinavia. In total, Legoland offers more than 50 exciting attractions and activities on land, at sea and even in the air.
