1. Playa de Las Canteras

This beach, nestled in the northeast of the island is the perfect blue water welcome. You can take a dip in the ocean and turn around to find colorful buildings adding to the vacation vibe. Playa de Las Canteras is one of the most popular on the island so there is no shortage when it comes to restaurants and cafés, all lined up along the promenade. The water is pleasantly warm as the temperature never falls below 15°C, so prefect for a round of snorkeling.

2. Playa de Maspalomas

This vast beach is truly one of a kind. Spanning 12km in length, this beautiful beach has sand dunes that stretch endlessly towards the water and a famous lighthouse that was built in 1890 to guide ships setting sail between Europe and the Americas. There are an abundance of sunbeds available to lounge on, or you can stay right next to the beach and have convenient access to the crystal clear waters at Radisson Blu Resort, Gran Canaria.

3. Playa de Mogán

This lovely beach, sitting just next to Puerto de Mogán, also known as "Little Venice" is the idyllic location for a lounge by the water. You can relax here and just watch the day go by with ease, or visit the Friday market with stalls lined up with vendors selling everything from fresh fruit and clothes to jewelry and art. You can visit this beach in just a 10 minute stroll from the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Gran Canaria, Mogan, where you also have an array of water sports, activities and services waiting for you!

4. Playa de Amadores

Believe it or not, this is actually a man-made beach. This artificially constructed beach was designed in such a way as to protect its visitors from the strong winds. But fear not, water sports are still part of the daily routine of many of the visitors here. The beach is well organized with plenty of sunbeds, facilities and refreshments, so you will be well taken care of.

5. Anfi del Mar

This well maintained beach is the perfect place for families and children. With an array of facilities including a volleyball court and beach activities, children are sure to have a blast. You are less than 8 minutes away by foot from the Radisson Blu Resort, Gran Canaria where you can continue the rest of your day by the hotel pool of you've had enough sand.

6. Playa Puerto Rico

Another beach your children will love owing to the shallow water and soft sand. There is a vast and great selection of restaurants and bars in the area so you can spend the day here and then end the evening with a delicious meal at Restaurante Don Quijote which serves everything from local cuisine to international dishes.

7. Playa del Confital

This is not one of the other traditional beaches with soft white sand, instead surrounded by awesome rock pools where children can explore. Further out at sea, the waves are perfect for surfing. This area attracts less tourists than the other spots on the island, so you are sure to find more space for yourself.

8. Playa de Guigui

This is the spot to go to if you are looking for a secluded and secret spot to tan or swim. Playa de Guigui is incredibly beautiful with breathtaking scenery, and in fact, an adventure to get to. Getting to this beach involves a three hour hike, so make sure you pack appropriate footwear with you - but the vista is well worth the journey.
