Australia is known for some pretty spectacular fashion and architectural designs (hello Sydney Opera House!). Maybe it’s all the spectacular sunshine, but something about the land down under is inspiring to many designers. Check out Greg Natale’s studio just outside of Sydney; or if fashion is more your thing, Dion Lee’s experimental and modern designs would be a great addition to any wardrobe.
Who doesn’t think of New York when someone mentions the word ‘design’? However, there’s plenty of other cities in the States that are filled with up-and-coming designers. Minneapolis boasts fashion designer Joy Noelle, whose boutique filled with romantic and dreamy items are perfect for those looking to create their own fairytale. Or stop by the ‘Windy City’ of Chicago and take a peek at Michael Abrams’ interior designs for some beautiful inspiration.
Nestled on the Baltic Sea, Latvia is an often overlooked destination for travel in general. However, if you have a passion for design, a stop off in the capital city of Riga is definitely worth your time. If you’re a fan of art nouveau, then you’ll love the Art Nouveau Shop in Riga; brimming with beautiful art nouveau jewelry, art and just about everything else you can think of. For home furnishings, Peteris Ozolinsh Design House is brimming with inspiration drawn from classical designs
Africa is filled with mesmerizing scenery and a rich culture, so it’s no wonder that designers often take inspiration from this continent. Based in Botswana, Black Trash creates edgy yet chic clothing that would fit right in on a runway in Paris. Sasa Interiors uses clean and elegant lines to create welcoming and homey spaces.
