Dance night and day in awesome venues or out in the South African sun and make this year one to remember. Here are some of the top festivals and upcoming concerts in 2016.

February 3-5

Kicking off the year on our list is the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CMEMF). In February each year, this festival promises to electrify you, pulsing out energy for three days at City Hall. You may have missed it for 2016, but it is way too good to leave it off our list. For those lucky enough to have grabbed tickets, get ready for a night of flashing lights, smoke machines and a lot of dancing.

December - April

Running throughout December until April are the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts. Here you can get wildly awesome views to match your tunes, as you sit out in the open under the shadow of Table Mountain. This year, Of Monsters and Men are going to rock the leaves off the trees in March, the city’s Philharmonic Orchestra is doing a show and all kinds of other artists are lined up. Connect with nature through sound

September

Get your tents, sleeping bags, silly outfits and sunscreen at the ready and get ready to Earthdance. This crazy cool festival is all about Techno, PsyTrance, Drumb & Bass and bringing people back to basics. Internationally renowned artists will join you on this two-day trip of music and fun, mixing things up and keeping you entertained on the three dance floors.

Year Round

With Lionel Richie in March and Mariah Carey in April-May Cape Town Stadium is starting this year out with top performers and promises more to come. Being just a few hundred meters from Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town, pairing a stay at the hotel and a concert is simply a must. The venue is impressive and with room for 55,000 people you are sure to feel the roar of the crowd when watching your favorite stars on stage. Grab tickets with Big Concerts well in advance so you don’t miss out.

Year Round

Grand Arena is another place in the city that is sure to serve up some delicious sounds in 2016. With a Roxette tour in February, Josh Groban in April, Iron Maiden in May this year is set to be big.

In addition to these awesome musical experiences, the capital has the Jazz on the Rocks Festival, One Night in Cape Town and so much more. Plan a night out at one of the venues or events and you are sure to be enthralled from beginning to end. What music will you discover in 2016?
