 When visiting somewhere new, we often rely on local recommendations for restaurants, whether it be from hotel staff or review sites such as Tripadvisor. We asked one of the receptionists at Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny what her recommendations are for dining out in town. Backed with great ratings on Tripadvisor, here are some of her top tips:

The Lemon Tree’s philosophy is ‘contemporary Irish cooking inspired by classic French cooking’. This family-run restaurant, The Lemon Tree, offers its clientele a relaxed vibe in a chic and intimate atmosphere. Inspired by sustainable cooking, the classic dishes on offer here are made from locally sourced and grown Irish produce, presented in an elegant, clean style. To compliment each meal there is also a selection of the regions finest brewed beers and an extensive wine selection. Finish of your meal with some of the delicious homemade pastries and deserts. Choose from the early evening or à la carte menu depending on what suits your palate the best.

You are guaranteed a warm welcome when you visit Pats on the Square, a well-established, cosy family-run Letterkenny restaurant. As the name suggests, it is located in prime position on Market Square.  The extensive menu includes organic and locally sourced produce from steaks, chicken, salmon to risotto, and an array of pastas and pizzas. The concept originally started with Pats Pizza, which you will find on Main Street.

The Brewery Bar

It you want to experience a traditional Irish pub, visit The Brewery Bar and Restaurant, also located on the square. Greeted by a warming fire and a charming ambiance, choose whether to stop at the bar for some refreshments or sample dishes from the brasserie style lunch menu. Food is served all day, and in the evening, head upstairs where the à la carte menu awaits you. Choose from house favourites including fish and chips, burgers and lasagne, and not forgetting beef and Guinness pie. The menu is also full of popular international dishes. Once you have satisfied your taste buds, why not head back the cosy bar and sample a much-loved Irish Coffee or a choice of craft beers whilst listening to live music.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny is central to the above mentioned places to dine, but make sure you also set aside time for a fine culinary experience at the in-house TriBeCa Restaurant. Awarded an AA Rosette for the delicious cuisine served here, this Brasserie style restaurant serves fresh, local ingredients, daily specials, complimentary breads and delicious homemade desserts. If one dish is not enough for you, make sure you visit at the weekend for the Sunday buffet.
