Are You Ready to See South Africa like Never Before?
South Africa is chock full of hidden gems. What’s better, many of these treasures happen to be located within a short distance of many of our hotels. So we thought we’d pass on a little of our insider knowledge and show you some of South Africa’s most ‘Instagrammable’ spots. Get inspired below.
From Hang-outs to Look-outs
Visit some of Cape Town’s favorite hang-outs like Café Roux, an intimate music venue situated in the heart of the city bowl, as well as some of the more historical sites that Capetonians treasure the most; including The Castle of Good Hope, the oldest existing colonial building in South Africa.
Take a trip through Gauteng, and experience the ‘Jozi’ vibe at its best. Check out Maboneng, which offers city residents a collaborative hub of culture, business and lifestyle. And don't forget to visit the City of Gold from the 50-storey Carlton Centre, offering a 360-degree bird’s-eye view of Johannesburg.
Next, head to Port Elizabeth to discover some of the city’s most prized attractions like the Seaview Predator Park, home to many wild cats (including lions, tigers, cheetahs and panthers), zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, lynx, warthogs and an array of other antelope species. Pay a visit to Polokwane, discovering the area’s history in places like Bakone Malapa Museum, a reconstructed village in the style used by the northern Sotho about 250 years ago. This village was designed to demonstrate the daily life of the Bakone, a highly sophisticated subgroup of the northern Sotho tribe.
