Jahrhunderthalle [Century Hall]
The domed hall was constructed in 1963 on the occasion of the 100-year existence of Hoechst AG and dedicated to the region’s residents after its opening. The goal was for it to be open to all cultural spheres which is why numerous concerts, ballets, musicals, comedy shows and even commercial events take place here today. However, the organizers also very much welcome other arts and concepts of any kind. The building’s modernist design and original details call to mind the flair of the 1960s - an impressive building that definitely makes for a great picture! With its 1,000 seats, a new event size for Frankfurt was created in the Jahrhunderthalle. Thanks to its spacious outdoor area, it also lends itself to festivals, for example.
KfW Westarkade [West Arcade]
With its 15 stories the KfW Bank’s building is admittedly much smaller than the skyline’s typical bank buildings, however, the façade’s colorful accents still make it stand out immediately. A unique motive for great pictures! The building complex consists of a 56-meter high office tower and a four-story timber-framed house. It was planned by the architects Sauerbruch Hutton who have won awards with their visually dynamic design: In 2011, the Westarkaden were appointed Europe’s best high-rise building. A regulated double façade (“pressure ring façade”) enables the office to be naturally ventilated without causing any draught problems.
Its iconic shape and composition as well as its direct Main location make the Westhafen Tower one of the most popular buildings in Frankfurt and one of the city’s landmarks as well. The impressive all-round view from the building makes this tower unique. Its round construction is sure to stick with you! Over 3,500 façade elements emboss the shimmering green outer form of this tower-like construction. Behind the circular external façade, square floors provide an efficient room division. Spacious office facilities expand over 29 stories and a total of 109 meters.
Radisson Blu Hotel, Frankfurt
If you want to relax after an action-packed day, the Radisson Blu Hotel in Frankfurt is just the place to do so. And even here it’s worth taking your camera along. The hotel is the only one in Europe that’s round and completely made of glass. This architectural marvel already stands out from afar. Even its interior boasts an impressive contemporary and stylish design all the way up to the 18th floor. That’s where you can find the swimming pool with a panoramic view over all of Frankfurt! It’s hard to say whether the view of the building or the view from the building is better. Let the impressive construction take its effect on you!
