Overlooking the concreate metro skyline of Johannesburg, Sandton is known as the richest square mile in Africa. There are many well-known restaurants to choose from in this area but getting around is not always the easiest. Fortunately, the Central One Restaurant is only a short walk (literally 55 steps) away from the Gautrain Station. Once you exit the station, you'll see the iconic Radisson Blu hotel with its large display screen.This stylish restaurant with a large pool deck allows you to take it all in with a 180-degree panoramic view. The restaurant strikes a unique balance between sophisticated and stylish aesthetics and a relaxed and casual atmosphere. At night, the trendy bar area comes alive with its beautiful color-changing walls flowing into the main dining area.
“Fine dining should be a feast for all the senses,” says David. Widely known for his delectable flavours, David believes that the perfect meal doesn’t stop there. “I don’t stop when a meal tastes exceptional – it’s my job to create a visually artistic experience for my guests to enjoy.”

Local South African flavor. Slow braised Karoo lamb shank with rosemary crushed potato, baby beetroot, red wine poached pear, crispy baby onion, gluhwein reduction – 245 Rand
A classic dessert that comes with a new experience that is not only delicious but visually attractive too. Imagine a banana split with creamy vanilla ice cream, decadent chocolate ganache, crunchy toasted hazelnuts, chocolate-dipped marshmallow floating on crispy wafer and cascading blue smoke – 55 Rand
With a wealth of experience garnered at a number of travel destinations under his belt, David made sure to have everyone’s mood in mind. “We have to remember that we are home to our guests and that they might not always be up for the full fine dining offering. For this reason, we have a selection of delicious snacks, tantalising hot and cold tappas, unusual tid bits and gourmet sandwiches to suit just about every palate” he says. One thing is for sure, you'll never get bored, as the menu changes seasonally. Taking the seasonality into account with quality fresh ingredients sourced locally is key to Central One Restaurant's philosophy.
