25 Golf Clubs and more than 500 holes of golf to choose from. Sounds like a dream? Well, this is what the North West of Skåne in the south of Sweden has to offer. Being able to play golf year-round, this small region comes in 2nd place in the world, after Florida in US, having the highest number of golf clubs within its region. Skåne is a destination that provides an incredible opportunity to experience some of the country’s best golf courses. If you are a true golfer, this should be on your golf course bucket list.
From the unique, to the traditional and internationally renowned, our piece of "golf heaven" invites you to follow in the footsteps of some of the greats, like Norman, Ballesteros or our very own Anika Sörenstam and Henrik Stenson. Whether you like playing alongside the ocean, among the forest pines or in open parkland we can recommend a golfing trip within 30 mins to satisfy all your senses.

Top golf courses to discover
Masters Course - Barsebäck
The Barsebäck Golf and Country Club is home to 45 holes and Henrik Stenson. It is Sweden’s most decorated tournament venue and The Masters Course is our favourite. A constant in Continental Europe’s top 100, Masters offers the unique experience of forest, parkland and ocean golf all in one. It's a tight course that relies on accuracy, distance control and a strategic approach, if you want to post a good score. The greens are often among the best in the country and are always pleasant to play. There is a great deal to like about the Masters Course and its views, particularly from holes 7 and 17. However, the views already from the clubhouse are worth the trip alone.
Tournament Course – Vasatorps Golfklubb
Redesigned or New? The Tournament Course or TC as it is affectionately known is a mix of newly laid out holes intertwined with some older ones. It opened in 2008 as one of Europe’s new gems and is a fun golf course to play. Designed with links characteristics in mind, TC requires a creative short game and can be strongly influenced by the wind. Especially when playing holes 11 through 16. TC is renowned for its difficult par 4 13th Hole, but we like the linksy feel of holes 4, 11, 12 and 16, giving the players a variety of options on how to play. TC has 6 tee boxes to choose from, allowing golfers of all skills and abilities the chance to play. The TC have been voted Sweden’s best course at the World Golf Award.

Gamla Banan - Båstad Golfklubb
Båstad, like Barsebäck and Vasatorp, are multiple course venues, offering various choices of courses to play. Båstad is comprised of 2 courses (gamla och nya) and with so much history behind it, Gamla Banan makes our top 5. Gamla Banan dates back to 1930 and is a very picturesque parkland course. Despite being just over 6000 m long, Gamla Banan’s undulating fairways and contoured greens provides the golfer with a stern test of golf. Club selection is critical at Båstad, so be sure to bring an extra club to ensure you reach the flag when playing up hill. Playing the well bunkered 11th, on the Gamla course, you will know what we mean. Don’t forget your sand wedge and camera for that matter - playing the signature hole #12, with the iconic windmill directly behind the green, is worth stopping for a photo.
Like Båstad, Rya is one of Sweden’s oldest courses. Steeped in tradition, Rya provides a true seaside experience with incredible views to Denmark. A short but challenging course Rya is protected by the wind and quite often tests the visiting golfer. The key to Rya is keeping the ball in play and avoiding high number clubs. Rya has in recent years put in a number of new bunkers to make it more challenging for the longer player. Our favorite hole is easily the Par 3 16th, especially in the afternoon to experience the sunset. Playing golf right alongside the sea is always a treat with the sound of waves crashing against land. Playing at Rya is just that, a treat!
Helsingborgs Golfklubb - also referred to as Viken
Helsingborg’s Golfklubb is a 9 hole national treasure. One of the few true links courses in Sweden, it has remained almost unchanged for over 90 years. It is home to the Hickory Goffers of Helsingborg and without a doubt is the place to play hickory golf. Viken may not possess all the facilities or conditioning of other courses in the area, but it retains a charming clubhouse with breathtaking views. A late evening summer round will long be remembered.
