Tallinn´s 6 best panoramas

One of the best ways to get to know a city is from above. Make your way to Tallinn’s rooftops, towers, observation decks and cafés to get the best view of this incredible city.
The beautiful Estonian capital is filled with sights and things to do. Here you can find a city beach, medieval fort, ancient churches, cafés, Old Town streets and much more. As with any busy city, rich on attractions, it is a good tip to get as high up as possible and view it all from above. From the rooftops of Tallinn the panoramas are truly amazing. Here are some sky-high suggestions:
1. Teletorn
Teletorn, Tallinn’s TV Tower, allows visitors up to its top levels to enjoy the spectacular view. This city’s largest building lets you experience the woods of Muuga, the Old Town, and the Baltic Sea, from 314metres above the ground. On a nice cloudless day, you can even catch sight of the lights of Helsinki.
2. Rooftop Cinema
In the heart of the city you will find Viru Keskus Shopping Centre, with its breath taking Rooftop Cinema. Get a unique skyline view while watching great films, like immortal classics, banned films, cult, scandals or documentaries.
3. Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin
This Medieval church, known as the Dome Church, holds a Baroque bell-tower. Here you can climb the steps, until you reach 69 metres high, for amazing views of the city. And while being stunned by the beauty, don’t forget to explore the rest of this fascinating historic attraction.
4. Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform
Don’t miss out on the Kohtuotsa viewing platform on the northern side of historic Toompea hill. It gives you the perfect view of the characteristic red roofs and the towering spires of the Old Town, as well as the high buildings from the newer parts of the city.
5. The Town Hall Tower
While visiting the Tallinn Town Hall during summer, remember to explore its 64 metre Gothic tower. Climb up the 115 steps from the spiral staircase until you reach the balcony. Take in the postcard-like scenes from the Old Town and the city centre.
6. Komeet Café
On the fourth floor of the Solaris Centre you can find the cosy Komeet Café. Enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding neighbourhood while relaxing with a cup of coffee and one of their superb cakes. Stick your teeth in a raspberry-meringue roll or cheese-honey cake with cinnamon. Or what about a layered chocolate meringue cake with fresh strawberries? Mmm! If visiting during summer, check out the roof top terrace, which is one of the city’s’ most desirable destinations.
Exploring the city will give you many fantastic picturesque viewpoints. A bird’s perspective is very useful to get your bearings when attempting to navigate in a new city. At the Radisson Blu Hotel Olümpia, Tallinn you will find stylish city centre accommodation, making the ideal base for taking in all the city’s sights and attractions.
