Every year in the heart of Leeds, visitors are treated to special Christmas activities for all ages to enjoy. With Christmas shopping, tasty food and fun events under twinkling lights, Millennium Square in Leeds is a must visit destination during the festive season.
The award winning Millennium Square is home to a popular German market in the run up to Christmas, as well as other fun activities. The stylish Radisson Blu Hotel Leeds is a cosy and warm getaway just around the corner from the festive events in Millennium Square.
One of the best loved German Christmas markets in the UK is open again for the festive season and this year, visitors can enjoy it for even longer. People can visit the Christkindelmarkt in Leeds to buy gifts and socialise in a picture perfect setting right up until Christmas Eve!
The Leeds German Christmas market transforms Millennium Square into a winter wonderland in the heart of the city. Stall holders sell gifts and treats in over 40 traditional wooden chalets decorated with twinkling lights and seasonal greenery.
The stalls sell a range of unique gifts including; gingerbread, handmade toys, jewellery, Christmas cards, candied fruits and festive ornaments alongside an indulgent array of festive food and drink. When you’re browsing for gifts you can enjoy hot Glühwein, bratwurst sausages and schnitzels, giving you an authentic taste of Germany.
Back for 2017, the Alp Chalet is the perfect place to immerse yourself in a traditional chalet atmosphere. With a live band, friendly service and tasty Bavarian food for you to wash down with traditional German beers, you’ll soon be feeling like you’re deep in the Bavarian Alps. Joining the Alp Chalet is Kuh Stall where the real log fire provides the perfect place to warm up for the winter chills, and new addition, Ski Hutte, brings a taste of apres-ski to Leeds. Socialise and enjoy a drink with friends while they play 30 tunes on their Glockenspiel.
Better for families than ever before, the market features a carousel, free children’s shows every Sunday and Santa’s Breakfast at Alp Chalet each Saturday and Sunday throughout December where Santa’s little helpers will escort you to your table before Santa Clause pays a special visit.
The Christkindelmarkt in Millenium Square is open daily until 24th December 2017.
