Go Skiing in Dubai
Yes, the title is correct. You can actually go skiing in Dubai. At the Mall of Emirates, there is an indoor snow resort with an incredible 22.500m² of real snow all year around. Ski Dubai offers an amazing mountain-themed wintery setting with five different slopes of varying difficulty and length. Both something for the experienced skier and the beginner. If you are new to skiing, you can join the Ski School where professional instructors will show you what great fun it is to slide down the snowy hill. The longest slope is about 400m. There is also a Freestyle Zone with jumps and rails for those who would like to test their skills.
And if you just want to play around in the snow then that is no problem. Ski Dubai has the largest indoor Snow Park in the world with an amazing 3000m² of snow. With several activities, like the twin track bobsled and a snow cavern filled with interactive experiences, this is a perfect place to enjoy winter wonderland in Dubai. This becomes even more special when you see there are Penguins here as well!
The temperature inside is about minus 1-2 degrees Celsius (30-28 degrees Fahrenheit). However, do not worry about freezing as both ski clothing and equipment is offered. If you are in for something to eat, then the themed St. Moritz Café and Avalanche Café will give you a proper ski lunch.
Ride the wave
Over 20 slides invite families to enjoy a day together at Legoland Water Park in Dubai, which is made for children aged 2-12. Build your own Lego raft, speed down a drop slide, enjoy the wave pool or splash about in the water fortress.
It is also possible to ski outdoors in Dubai’s desert; something else you probably never imagined. Join a safari and go sandboarding, which is actually one of the most popular sporting activities in the desert. Travel across this arid landscape in a 4x4 vehicle with a private guide who will take you to some of the most beautiful sand dunes in the desert around Dubai. Sliding down the sand dunes is a very special and exciting experience you don’t want to miss out on.
Do you dream of go skydiving but don’t want jump of a plane from 4000m up in the air? At both Inflight Dubai and iFly Dubai you can experience the thrill without ever boarding a plane. A vertical wind tunnel blowing air upwards lifts you up giving you the exciting feeling of weightlessness.
Inflight Dubai’s wind tunnel is about 5m across and 21m high, while iFly Dubai’s is about 3m diametre and 10m high, with an acrylic glass wall. Before you enter the tunnel and feel the adrenaline rush, you will be provided with a flight suit, safety goggles and a helmet. Even though you need to gear up, do not worry about safety as you will get proper instructions on how to manoeuvre yourself when flying and you will be closely monitored while in air. The indoor skydiving is an extraordinary experience for everyone; even young children can join in on the fun.
Looking to experience some epic loops? Hollywood-blockbuster-inspired roller coasters at the theme park Motiongate will plunge, dip and dive you into the worlds of Ghostbusters, Hunger Games, Kung Fu Panda and more.
And if you REALLY are a thrill-seeker, an adrenaline junkie, or a horror movie fan, you'll want to check out Dubai's first haunted attraction, Hysteria. Simply go check out the website to find out if this spooky attraction is right for you. Warning: this one is not for children!
