Walk across the Bridge of Peace

The Bridge of Peace is a bow-shaped structure stretching over the Kura River in Tbilisi. Although construction finished in 2010, the bridge has already come to symbolize a link between the historic part of Tbilisi and the city’s ambitions for the future. The pedestrian bridge showcases modern architecture with a durable steel membrane and glass panels. The roof is particularly impressive, with a sparkling wave-shaped design that flows along the walkway.

The bridge widens in the center, creating an ideal spot to stop for a few pictures, mingle with locals, or sit down and relax while grabbing a bite to eat. While visitors find the bridge to be spectacular enough during the day, many agree that a night time view of the bridge’s bright neon lights is worth the wait, or repeat trek.

To get to the complex, you'll need to purchase a rechargeable card then hop aboard the train towards the top. Take in some of the most magnificent views of the city while dining on delicious Georgian cuisine.

Popular dishes include fillet of Norwegian salmon with tomato and dill salsa, lamb rubbed in Mediterranean spices served with yogurt, garlic, and pesto, and pappardelle with a wild mushroom cream sauce and shaved truffles. Save room for dessert, which may include a chocolate fondant with caramel ice cream and hazelnut praline, or a deconstructed cheesecake with strawberry compote.
