Watt a Hub and Radisson Blu!

Thought cycling was just for fun? Think again.

Radisson Blu, along with our sister brand Park Inn by Radisson, hotels all over Switzerland are joining together to show that not only is cycling good for you mind and body, but for the environment as well.

As part of the ‘Think Planet’ initiative, Radisson Blu is bringing renewable energy to our customers. Each week, the ‘Watt A Hub’ bicycle will be visiting our customers in major cities all over Switzerland; as well as our Radisson Blu Hotels in Switzerland.

People will be able to cycle on the ‘Watt A Hub’ bikes and generate energy to power their electronic devices such as tablets, smartphones or computers. The ‘Watt A Hub’ bicycle is completely self-sufficient as well, requiring no charging as long as people are willing to peddle.

A small device inside the bikes is able to collect data on the calories, time, distance, and kilowatts that are generated while people ride. For every kilowatt generated, CHF 10 will be donated to the World Childhood Foundation.

Dominik Becher, Sales Manager Switzerland & Austria, for Radisson Hotel Group explains,

With this very unique and unusual project we want to create more awareness for our 'Think Planet' project. Moreover, we would like to give back something to society and do good while visiting our customers. However, it isn't only about being active. It's also about having fun.”
